Letha Wilson - 2014
American artist Letha Wilson (b. 1976) combines photography with industrial materials like concrete and steel.
She cuts, tears and shapes her photographs, pushing and pulling the prints into place and then encases portions of the composition in cement.
Fascinated by the the magnetic pull of the American West, her works refer to landscape’s intrinsic role in our own myths of reinvention, endless possibility, and inevitable promise.
Represented by Galerie Christophe Gaillard, she has exhibited in group shows at Henie Onstad Kunstsenter, MASS MoCA and ICP.
