Jean-Baptiste Bernadet - 2020
Jean-Baptiste Bernadet's paintings set out to explore one of the thousands of variations that exist between the solid state of the painted canvas.
His vibrant abstract work play with the continuous, distracted flux of our perceptions.
The French artist (b. 1978) describes his work as “an art of the fugue, of the vapor of time”.
Represented by Almine Rech and based in Brussels, he has had solo exhibitions at Musées de la Citadelle de Villefranche-sur-Mer and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, and is a former resident of the Chinati Foundation in Marfa.
