Emerging British artist Patrick H Jones (b. 1987) creates immensely personal work that draws from his own feelings of pain and experience.

Often using the metaphor of animals or the body in motion, Jones’ textured works are emotive, raw, layered, rigorous and intuitive.

Stylistically resisting the trends within contemporary painting, Jones aims to create his own aesthetic and authentic paths.

These two works cross the line between abstraction and figuration, echoing Tanazaki’s views on the beauty of darkness and mystery.
