Varda Caivano - 2022

Plate/Placa

Varda Caivano (b. 1971) lives and works between London and Madrid.

Her take on abstraction opens different ways of understanding the image.

Her compositions, sometimes rhythmic and antagonistically entropic, reveal hidden layers in the painting.

Caivano investigates moments of light and image, almost like a poetic archaeologist exploring fossilized rocks. Her work is at once mysterious, persistent, and timeless.

Represented by Mednes Wood DM, Caivano has had solo shows at institutions including The Renaissane Society, Chisenhalle Gallery and Kunstverein Freiburg.
