Philipp Fleishmann - 2024
Austrian artist Philipp Fleishmann (b.1985) creates installations and wall works that emerge from the technical aspects of filmmaking - light, exposure, and celluloid film strips.
He often works with site-specific analog cameras and the exposures on lengths of film that they produce, looking at the roles of institutions and historical exhibition spaces in mediating relationships, contexts, and discourses between the viewing public and the art on display.
This is from a series of 2D works made from filmstrips exposed to a source of colored light.
He recently exhibited at Biennale de Lyon and Kunstverein Braunschweig.
