German artist Gregor Hildebrandt's (b. 1974) paintings, sculptures and installations draw on music, cinema and underground cultures, arranging and combining visual elements of sound recordings and various recording media such as magnetic tapes, vinyl records or compact disks.
Throughout his poetic work, infused with both sound and silence, the Berlin-based artist who shows with Almine Rech and Wentrip has had solo presentations at Berlinische Galerie, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis and is in the collection of the Centre Pompidou and Rubell Collection.
