Oliver Osborne - 2023-2024

Botticelli

Oliver Osborne (b. 1985) creates paintings that blend abstraction, figuration and appropriation without hierarchy.

Silk-screens of appropriated cartoons, pages from language textbooks, large multi-panelled monochrome canvases, embroidery and precisely executed paintings of figures and objects are all part of his repertoire.

By using this broad visual language he attempts to understand what potential the act of painting still holds within contemporary art.

Osborne is represented by Tanya Leighton and has exhibited at Bonner Kunstverein, Inverleith House and in 2025 he will hold a solo exhibition at the Fondazione ICA Milano.
