Wine tasting – A journey through Puglia

For this special edition of CIAO’s wine tasting, Sonia is joined by Sergio Elia, a winemaker whose journey has taken him across the world - from the Barossa Valley to Napa, from Burgundy to Barolo - before returning to his native Itria Valley in Puglia to found Cantina Elia.

Trained as an oenologist in Locorotondo and at Cattolica di Piacenza, Sergio spent years refining his craft in some of the world’s most prestigious wine regions. In 2018, he returned home with a vision: to combine Puglia’s rich terroir with the innovative techniques he had mastered abroad.

 This tasting offers a rare opportunity to experience the wines of Cantina Elia while hearing directly from the winemaker himself. Discover the philosophy behind his approach, the influence of his global experience, and the distinct character of Puglian wines.
