Jérôme Sans is one of the most influential figures in the contemporary art world. Co-founder of the iconic Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Sans has been at the forefront of reshaping how art is presented and experienced. His career spans multiple continents and industries, from curating exhibitions at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing to running the renowned culture magazine L’Officiel Art. Known for his interdisciplinary approach, Sans bridges the gap between art, design, architecture, and fashion, and has a penchant for public art and interventions.

Jérôme Sans is a curator, cultural agitator, and director of institutions, known internationally for his pioneering and transversal approach to new models of cultural institutions and exhibitions. His combined expertise in fields as diverse as design, fashion and architecture has pushed him towards experiencing art beyond exhibitions in multiple fields from brands to urban development. Sans’ visionary perspectives on public outdoor installations led him to organise several city-wide projects. He is the co-founder of the acclaimed Palais de Tokyo in Paris and was the director of the ground-breaking Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing (UCCA). In addition to his many publications, he was creative director and editor-in-chief of the French cultural magazine L’Officiel Art. Since 2022, he has been Artistic Director of LagoAlgo, located in the heart of the Chapultepec Forest in Mexico City. In 2022, he initiated and curated public interventions on Place Vendôme in Paris with Alicja Kwade and Bernar Venet (2023). He has curated numerous major exhibitions around the world, including the Taipei Biennale (2000), the Lyon Biennale (2005), Erwin Wurm at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade (2022), and the Festival Noor Riyadh, Saudi (2023), Frieder Burda Museum (2024).

Born in apartheid-era South Africa, Geers' journey from a working-class family to an artist in exile has profoundly shaped his unique artistic language, defying simple categorization.
Geers gained international recognition early in his career, with notable participation in the 1997 Johannesburg Biennale and Documenta 11 in 2002, curated by the esteemed Okwui Enwezor. In 2013, Enwezor further cemented Geers' significance by curating his retrospective at the prestigious Haus der Kunst in Munich. Now based in Brussels, Geers continues to push artistic boundaries, creating works that resonate globally while remaining firmly rooted in his African identity and experiences.
